The Experience and Consideration of "Suffering". 'For to you has been given the privilege not only of trusting Him but also of suffering for Him' (Philippians 1:29). Suffering in and of itself is not a privilege. But when we do suffer because we've faithfully represented Christ Jesus, we know that our message and the example are having an effect and that God considers us worthy to represent Him. 1. It takes our eyes off earthly comforts
2. It weeds out our superficial believers
3.It strengthens the faith of those who endure
4. It serves as an example to others that may follow each of us
