 Blood pressure details-insight & Intel

Particularly for seniors and those considered elderly

Normal blood pressure for ages of 60 and above may vary slightly depending on individual health conditions and other factors. However, generally as a rule of thumb a good or

ideal blood pressure for 60 and above should safely be around 130/80 mmHg or possibly lower.

1. The top number: This represents the pressure in the arteries as the heart beats and pumps blood out during each heartbeat. A systolic pressure of 130 or less is considered normal for any adult regardless of age.

2. Diastolic Pressure bottom number: It represents the pressure in the arteries when the heartbeat is at rest between beats. This should be less than 80mmHg, which is considered at a normal level, also for adults regardless of age

Remarks: If you discover that your systolic pressure exceeds levels higher than 140 or more that is considered higher than normal -It is time to consult with a primary medical care doctor

For the Diastolic exceeding pressures of more than 80 or near 90, It’s time to consult with your doctor as well.

It is vital to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including a regular exercise routine daily, eating a balanced diet of food intake or low sodium and saturated fats, managing stress, and seeking inner peace through meditation and prayer to be better centered and balanced, also help to keep the blood pressure within good normal range, as you age gracefully with no stress no mess and less pain and inflammation
