WHY DO THE MOST DISTRESSING TRAUMATIC EVENTS OCCUR ON
THE PATH ON THE JOURNEY OF LIFE.
BY: Steve Braxton, Vietnam Era Veteran
I shall attempt to provide and give insights and Intel of some details regarding
a tragic situation which happened on my path on the journey of life. The
situation was a US Naval Ship collision at sea. Where I was on board serving
as a Naval Intelligence Officer on Jan 31, 1967.
My Mindful Thoughts Of Consciousness about the cause of this event,
the question of who was responsible, and why it happened?
In the aftermath of the collision-at -Sea it was surmised, as a miss cue of a
series of coded messages that had to be deciphered to ascertain the proper
turns the ship had to make during “Operation Market time’-a darkened ship
maneuver War Zone Exercise. No one to blame, It was not a deliberate
situation and was considered simply an accident. Which caused serious
injuries to numerous shipmates who suffered lacerated limbs, broken bones to
legs, arms, and feet, and sadly two shipmates died in the collision
That being said, since the accident, I have personally grasped and
embrace the the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, that when you
endure pain and suffering it tends to build character, and more importantly, care
and concern about others. This might be the consideration as a key reason
for why the situation happened
In finally, the effects that this traumatic event had on my beliefs and the beliefs
of others, was that it brought to bare and into the forefront an ideal sense of
humanity and civility regarding setting aside opinions about cultural
differences. Because what we have in common is more important and far
outweigh the perceived differences among humanity.
Thus the goal became the focus of getting through The Suffering To Reach
The Glory! Where the right is to earn and celebrate freedom and liberation.
Therefore, to reach out grasping the advent To Survive, Overcome, and
continue To Thrive. Such is the realization of the ultimate levels of
achievements, that allows the opportunity to possess the Strength, the
Fortitude for “Resiliency’ to get up, bounce back, again, again, and again.
Thus this is indeed the Power Of my Story.
SUFFERING AND GLORY
“Was it not necessary that Christ should suffer these things and enter
Into The Glory” {Luke 24:26}
As I think of painful events in my life, and how many of them I am
grateful for today., I am also of the belief and the experience encounters on the
path on the journey of life, that every painful event contains in itself a seed of
growth, development, maturity, and levels of freedom and liberation
